Business Principles
In the Cordillera del Condor, Dorato, through a series of option agreements, has the right to wholly acquire an extensive land package of approximately 1,050 square kilometers. Dorato has not yet exercised its option to acquire the interest, but intends to do so following the granting of a supreme decree by the Peruvian authorities. In Cajamarca, Dorato has an option to acquire 100% of the Deborah property. There are no communities within the core exploration area of the Cordillera and, therefore, there is no day to day interaction at the operative level with the traditional Awajun indigenous inhabitants. The nearest urban centre of any significant size is Santa Maria de Nieva, located more than 100 kilometres to the east. However, Dorato understands that smaller communities of indigenous peoples live within 50 kilometres of the exploration properties and could be impacted by future development in the area. There are communities living within the Cajamarca property (Deborah) and Dorato will be consulting with community as the project moves forward.
Dorato, its board of directors and senior management, are committed to the responsible development of the option properties in the Cordillera and in Cajamarca and to community involvement in all future development. In the Cordillera, exploration activities are currently undertaken by Minera Afrodita S.A.C., a Peruvian company which holds mineral exploration rights in the area. Although Dorato Resources is not active in the Cordillera, we fully recognize that as option holders and future operators, we must ensure that Minera Afrodita complies with internationally accepted best practices in exploration. Exploration activities in Cajamarca are undertaken by Dorato Peru SAC.
Dorato supports the following business principles, which represent best practice guidelines specific to the mineral exploration industry as outlined by the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada. Further information can be downloaded:
